Coming this April to four major platforms (PC, Xbox 360, PS3 and Mac) Portal 2 draws from the award-winning formula of innovative gameplay, story and music that earned the original Portal over 70 industry accolades and created a cult following.

The single-player portion of Portal 2 introduces a cast of dynamic new characters, a host of fresh puzzle elements and a much larger set of devious test chambers. The players will explore never-before-seen areas of the Aperture Science Labs and be reunited with GLaDOS, the occasionally murderous computer companion who guided them through the original game.

The game’s two-player cooperative mode features its own, entirely separate campaign with a unique story, test chambers and two new player characters. This new mode forces players to reconsider everything they thought they knew about portals. Success will require them to not just act cooperatively but to think cooperatively.

Chell wakes to find herself in a stasis chamber resembling a motel room, where an artificial voice guides her through a cognitive test before she is put back to sleep. When she awakens again, many years have passed and the Aperture Science complex has become dilapidated and overgrown.

Wheatley a personality core, moves the room—located in one of hundreds of shipping containers in a warehouse—and the pair attempt escape via the test chambers. In the process, they accidentally reactivate the dormant GLaDOS who separates Chell from Wheatley and rebuilds the laboratory.

Potatoes are a motif of Portal 2. Wheatley traps GLaDOS's core personality in a potato battery while he takes over the Aperture Science facility.

Having done so, GLaDOS subjects Chell to new obstacle courses until Wheatley breaks Chell out. The pair sabotage the turret and neurotoxin manufacturing plants before confronting GLaDOS, where after Chell performs a "core transfer", replacing GLaDOS with Wheatley as the laboratory's controlling intelligence.

As the game progresses like this, you will have to face a lot of challenges!
